I've lived in Brookhaven for roughly 10 years so I can speak with relative confidence regarding the quality of the area. Like many neighborhoods in Atlanta, it's a mixed bag. Since covid, we've had an influx of folks from other states that has definitely had a negative impact on the overall quality of life here. There are a lot of transient types who seem to have little concern for this community and certainly don't add any value in being here. Not that it's required of people... but it's just a very odd mixture of transient renters and very wealthy families that creates kind of a strange atmosphere here. Your experience here can vary greatly depending on the day. That said, it has been a really pleasant place to live, and I love the city's focus on maintaining the verdantness of the area.
Brookhaven is a serene suburb in metro Atlanta. It is very family-friendly with lots of parks and restaurants in the area. My university, Oglethorpe University is situated in Brookhaven and I know for a fact that it is a safe environment.
There are a plethora of places to eat, hang out, shop and study.

Brookhaven, formerly a part of Atlanta, is a great city to live in. I live in the outskirts of it, but it’s a great neighborhood overall.
I’ve noticed some of my fellow neighbors don’t take care of our community as much as they should, there has been some breaking in incidents, but overall I don’t fear for my life. Maybe I fear for the items inside my car, but material items can always be replenished, a life can’t.
