Brookfield is a very small community. It is very supportive as well. In time of need, the community comes together to lend a helping hand. For example, a teacher's child was diagnosed with cancer. The community put together a fundraiser and many others of the community attended. Most people that live in Brookfield have spent their wholes lives here so everyone knows everyone. The classes in school were very small and close. Each year the seniors spend extra time together that the school puts on like the senior trip and events we plan ourselves like the senior sleep over which is when all the seniors spend the night together before their last day of school. It's a very small hard working city. There are many farms and a lot of land that people work on. The city does not have many business, but the ones we do have, we support like our local grocery store. There is not much crime in Brookfield but we do have an amazing police force. They are very friendly and show that they care about the city. Most of them have been working here for years and we know by first name. The city also puts on events like Easter Egg Hunts, church fundraiser and even a local thanksgiving dinner for the community. I would choose to live in this area again because I could not imagine living in a town where I did not know all my neighbors or not running into someone I know at the grocery store. This town is very support in sports, schools, local business and in each other lives. I would live here again because the support of the community is like none I have ever seen. A whole town would not get together to morn the lost of a 21 year old boy like Brookfield did. There were lines going outside the building for comfort the family in need for several hours. I see Brookfield staying the way it is in the future. It has always been a small, supportive, family orientated town.
