Bridgeport is a beautiful city but it needs a lot of love and care from it's own residents. Residents expect alot things done for them but none would take time to make a change or a difference for themselves and especially for our youths! Too many young lives being taken away just because they want to represent a side of town or what housing complex they are from! Not alot of resources for the youth, that leads them to the gang and the violence. Next thing you know they either in jail or 6 feet underground. Bridgeport, CT can be a better place, if we all residents unite as one community, get involved, and make a difference.

The mayor of Bridgeport goes to prison for racketeering, extortion and mail fraud. When he gets out, he runs for mayor again and WINS. Unbelievable. The city government is incredibly inefficient and corrupt. I have friends who work in the school system and hear wild stories. Progress in the city government is almost impossible due to racial problems like calling every act of discipline or attempt to fix anything racism, to an absolutely ridiculous degree. This is not unique to just one race either. Teachers, firefighters and police unions are divided by race. There are too many people in this city that don't care about littering and have no pride in where they live. On the bright side, most people are very friendly and helpful to each other and there is a lot to do here. Property crime is rampant, everything needs to be put away or bolted down or someone else will soon own it.
Overall, the environment here is not that safe, especially around the west and east side. In fact, the north end is the safest part. However, I like that the education here is expanding!
