Bremerton is a great city! The weather here is absolutely beautiful, we get warm summers and cold winters. The view of all the islands here in the fall is an unparalleled site, covering the landscape with an hushed orange tone. People here tend to be on the nicer side, nicer than most cities I've lived in. We have a variety of stores and facilities here, you can almost always find what you need. One thing that I should mention is that Bremerton is a military town. We're close to some of the most important U.S. Navy bases in the country, and a huge portion of the population here is employed by the U.S. Navy through either military or civilian service. This means that we have a lot of people coming in from all over, which in turn gives us a very diverse population. The food here is also wonderful. We have good Mexican, Vietnamese and Japanese eateries. I've lived here 7 years, and I've enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend!
Living in Bremerton Washington is great. I love how quiet it gets and how there are a lot of places to go hiking or camping or any activity with the family. The people here are nice and friendly. I have been living here for almost 2 years and I feel comfortable and safe. I am a wife and mother and the schools are amazing and I feel comfortable raising my kids in this town. We have been to a lot of parks and attractions in Bremerton and we fell in love with all of them. The weather is great when the sun comes out and there is never over crowding in any parks. Bremerton streets are beautiful. Always blooming with flowers or trees and makes you feel really close to nature. My family and I always go for a drive whenever the sun comes out just to enjoy the beautiful view Bremerton has to offer. From the waterfronts to the parks, everything is just beautiful. There are good jobs and nice homes in Bremerton and it is still developing everyday.
A global panorama/panini/pandemonium as well as other personal reasons led us away from California to our quiet neighborhood right at the Manette Bridge. Bremerton really has been a wonderful and restful place to live. Manette has a cute area with shops, the water is all over the place, very nice parks (Lions Park is our go-to, but there's no shortage of options). For a runner like me, I can mix and match flat areas with massive hills for a challenge, and even trail running over at Illahee Preserve if I like. Silverdale has all of the bigger shopping options you need. When you absolutely need more of those big-city amenities, the ferry to Seattle is literally right there.
You definitely get the navy presence, but there's all sorts of people that live here. Neighbors here are very mellow, polite, and decent folk. It's an overlooked place in the area, and honestly I hope it stays that way and doesn't grow too much (though more of those ominous condos are starting to sprout up).
