Brattleboro is a wonderful town to grow up in. It is a vibrant and progressive community with a wonderful art scene and fantastic educators. However, Brattleboro faces a severe lack of jobs. It is also grappling with a growing opiate epidemic that has made the town less safe and more riddled with tragedy. Brattleboro is also seriously lacking in diversity, which does not make it an easy place for minorities to feel comfortable.
Brattleboro, Vermont is a fantastic town for a young liberal to live in if they prefer the company of older adults. I greatly enjoy Brattleboro because I am a young liberal who enjoys the company of older adults. Unfortunately Brattleboro is located in between the major New England cities and Canada, so there is a great deal of drug trafficking. However there is also a great deal of local art and artists, along with a strong sense of community and a push for local foods.
Brattleboro is the best whether you like to walk or take the bus everything is right there. You have shopping, movies, schools, bowling, even a hospital. Everything is walking distance in this peaceful town.
