I love Brandermill because it blends modernity and a 21st century lifestyle with the outdoors. The Swift Creek Reservoir is beautiful year round, and is a great place for recreation and activities. Simply walking on the trails in Brandermill makes you feel as if you are in a state park, but you are only outside of your home! The people are friendly, and it has one of the best locations in Richmond in terms of accessibility for quality. Many of my friends live in the Fox neighborhoods or Woodlake, and they often complain about traffic on Hull Street and back roads, whereas Brandermill is directly off major highways, but still isolated, which makes the morning commute that much easier.

Brandermill is a great community and very family friendly. There are three pools and several parks throughout the community. I love living in Brandermill, because of how close it is to my school. I also work at the restaurant in my neighborhoods most popular area: Sunday park. I will say I have a complaint. In the beginning of 2018, the Brandermill Community Association made some new rules. They gave all residents an allotted amount of time to purchase a parking pass that must be used anywhere on Brandermills property. This includes any park, playground, pool, and even our well known Sunday Park. People all over Midlothian come to Sunday park, not just Brandermill residents, and it has been that way for years. Now if the public want to spend a day outdoors in our beautiful park, they run the risk of being towed. I would like to see this change before Brandermill receives a five star rating from me.
Brandermill is a beautiful, nature-inspired planned urban development (PUD) integrated into the forest with a 1,700 acre water reservoir, which is for residents only. The community association only allows electric engines on boats so the reservoir stays quiet and clean. There are paved paths throughout the entire PUD, so there are plenty of dog walkers, joggers, etc. The schools are wonderful. There is plenty of shopping nearby, but Brandermill is residential only, which maintains the safe, quiet, natural setting.
