Bourbonnais provides exactly what you would want from a perfect community. While slightly "removed" from the Chicago suburban sprawl, you are no more then 30-45 minutes from most of the large south suburban communities. Bourbonnais has the upper hand as it can tie itself into the Chicago culture whenever it chooses, yet distance itself at the same time. If you are looking for a safe, calm place to do life, come a little further south to Bourbonnais. Great schools, beautiful parks, (almost) all the shopping and restaurant choices you'd need, and good choices for higher education with Olivet Nazarene University at the center of the community. And to top it all of...a MUCH cheaper lifestyle than Will/Cook/Dupage/Lake/McHenry counties! I am excited to start a life here.

Bourbonnais is a great town for anyone; college students, families, and everyone in between! There are several restaurants to try out, the schools are great, and the neighborhoods are friendly.
Bourbonnais has its ups and downs. Positively speaking, the community is pretty friendly. There are nice parks to go to, including Perry Farms. There are many restaurants and stores in Bourbonnais or nearby in Bradley and Kankakee. On the negative side, though, the town is a little underfunded. The appearance of the neighborhoods could be kept up nicer. But overall, I love the community and fellowship that I have found here.
