Overall, it's a nice little town to live in, there tend to be some crime, but nothing like bigger cities, not sure how good the police department is here yet, though I'd hope they'd help the city to feel safer. It's pretty affordable, bought a house for relatively cheap. Biggest gripe I have is we need to get more businesses in town and job opportunities, seems most of the businesses that come only last a few years, then they either close down or move. There's hardly anything in the way of job opportunity here unless you work retail, hospital, school, fast food, or the select few warehouse places that are in town..

I like that Boone has all the necessary businesses so you don't have to travel to another town. I would like to see more restaurants. Boone has a decent school system. Overall the people are friendly, but being a small town can be excluded if didn't grow up here.
Boone is a nice town in central Iowa. With a population of just over 12,000 I love the small town feel. It is full of friendly people and is great at making others feel welcomed and safe. Boone has great parks and bike paths that make you feel like you are tucked away in the woods while still being in town. My only complaint with the town is the lack of activities. It would be nice to have more events to attend or a Starbucks for all of the coffee lovers here. I've lived in Boone for 18 years and am proud to call it home.
