My family moved here in Bloomington a few years ago . I wanted to say I love it here ! There is so many activities to do that’s free for family. This city is really good when it comes to activities that everyone can participate in and that’s what I love about this city. Bloomington also has so many restaurants to choose from and plenty of vegan and vegetarian food places to eat! Everyone is so nice and helpful not once did I feel uncomfortable nor did I feel like I didn’t fit in. I highly recommend this place to anyone who want a safe environment for you children to go to school and raise a family. Everyone is respectful and helpful here and that’s what I love about Bloomington
I was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois. I have lived here for my entire life. I love the general atmosphere in this town. People are nice, they will hold open doors for you and even go so far as to pull over on the side of the road while driving to help a stranger change a tire or help someone push their car out of a snow drift.
The affordability aspect of Bloomington, IL is fantastic. There are thousands of high paying jobs that pay above the national average. These high paying jobs combined with a low cost of living is one of the best aspects of living in Bloomington, IL.
In regards to things that could be changed, there are certain roads and streets that have seen some neglect. In certain areas, you will find some decently sized potholes. I would also like to see an increase in the nightlight in Bloomington.
Overall, I enjoy living in Bloomington, IL, and I think people that move here for work, school, or other reasons will enjoy it, too!

We moved in to a developing neighborhood of five houses surrounded by cornfields 14 years ago, and my has this town grown! The economy used to be based off of two insurance companies and a bunch of schools, but this city has really grown into its own. With countless schools, universities, restaurants, and other small businesses moving in, the whole vibe of the town has changed to draw in artists, students, entrepreneurs, and growing families. It's been such a nice place to grow up and see change over time!
