The house was affordable but there are tons of bigots in this area. I've been attacked for my religious beliefs, sexually harassed while out jogging, called a whore for being a single woman living alone, been repeatedly harassed after reporting children vandalizing my house because "they are just kids." When I had a back injury and couldn't keep up with my yard as usual a neighbor left a nasty letter on my door, reported me as a squatter, vandalized my house, and stole my lawn decorations. I have a few hood neighbors but most people around here act like they are part of white collar society and look down on anyone who doesnt fit their cookie cutter lifestyle. Diversity isn't valued here. I would love to see this area with a bit more culture, respect, and decency.

The area is quiet and great for raising a family. It is close to several stores and the area mall and the schools are all in close proximity to anywhere you may live in the area. Also, the area is up and coming, as stores are continually being built and new housing developments are being built. The biggest downside is the traffic, the typical rush hours of eight and five are the worst. The crime rate is pretty low overall in my particular area, I have had absolutely no issues and the neighbors look out for each other and are relatively friendly.
Generally speaking the Brandon area is a suburb of Tampa, so many of the features one would expect to find in a typical suburb are here. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly, from a combination of southern hospitality and the "relaxed" atmosphere people tend to find in Florida. Small business seem to be all the buzz as of lately especially in the hospitality sector so with the small economy booming and friendly demeanor of the residents I'd say that the overall experience for anyone would be a prosperous and welcoming one.
