Bevier Reviews
Rating 3 out of 5 2 reviews
I've lived in this small town for over ten years and spent most of my time in school here. In that time I've made a lot of friends, lost some, and made some good memories that will hopefully last a lifetime. This town has the perfect population, and the "everyone knows everyone" annoyed me at first, it has since grown on me and has become part of Bevier's charm and couldn't imagine living in a town any other way.
I have been told my whole life that the midwest is full of small towns like this one where everyone is neighborly and part of a real community. While it is true in Bevier that everyone knows everyone else, there has been none of that welcoming feeling. Most of the people here have been doing things the same way for 50 years and will resent anyone who does things differently. There is zero value placed on education or self-improvement, and everyone seems very bitter and angry and selfish all the time. After 2 years we still do not feel welcome here, despite membership in the church and kids attending the local school. This may be a good place to retire, but for a transplanted family this is probably the worst place I have ever experienced.
