I have lived in this city for all of my life and loved it! It is right next to the beautiful Mississippi river, and there are many parks long bike trails for good exercise. The city is connected with several other cities along the river on both sides, and in the area combined there is just about anything you would want to do--great restaurants, a zoo, movie theaters, etc.

I've lived in the QCA including Bettendorf for almost 15 years and out of the 4 major 'quad' cities, Bettendorf is the best in almost every aspect. The only down fall is that costs of living isn't cheap compared to the other 3 cities. Aside from prices of housing and other costs of living it is an awesome place to live, grow and prosper! They have great community events, a family museum that keeps it's exhibits fresh, a library that is state of the art, a couple art galleries, a ton of good places to eat, movie theaters and other night life places for adults and college students. Plus they have one of the largest community college campuses in the Midwest! From any age, Bettendorf is a great place to grow up, go to school, have a career and have a great family!
It is a shame that most people's experience with Bettendorf will be from a window miles in the air. Being a city in a "fly-over" state, most have not had the pleasure of tasting the decadent Whitey's Ice Cream, or have had the experience of going to a well-funded local high school. It may not be Chicago or Omaha, but the Bettendorf does have a local theatre, a nice bar scene, safe neighborhoods, and a College. Being a part of the Quad Cities, Bettendorf is included in a small metropolis that includes about 250, 000 residents. It has many of the big city amenities, while retaining small town safety, community, and values. I am proud to have grown up in Bettendorf.
