I have lived in Bethlehem for 18 years now but my family has for so much longer. My father lived here thanks to my grandparents moving from Puerto Rico. Which says a lot considering how young they were and they all love it. Life here in Bethlehem can be described in so many ways; vibrant, cultural, educational, natural, and beautiful. It's important to note that individual experiences may vary, and what makes life "good" in Bethlehem can be subjective. However, the factors mentioned above contribute to the overall positive reputation and desirability of living in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
I would love to see a modern change come to Bethlehem. While I absolutely love the historic look that our city has, I feel that a more modern upgrade to a lot of our shopping and entertainment centers would provide more to younger generations and encourga epeople to be out in our city. I would also like to see a change in our inner city and how the hostoric appeal is overshadowed by littering and un organization. I appreciate that the downtown area is very walkable and you do not need a car in order to get around to local businesses and restaurants. Finding a nice park or nature walk is also never an issue here and you can find many parks or large expanses of wooded area that is perfect from getting away from the city.
Bethlehem is a beautiful city, with lots to do and so many food places to try. If you like the city but also want a more toned down version of it, Bethlehem is perfect for you. I really love the Southside! Some great food places to try are El Jefes and Hocca. Also if you love cheap and good food, C-Town has the best empanadas for just $1.50 each! Musikfest is also a huge plus! You are right in the middle of a music festival. The food is always great and they have so many amazing pop up shops there, and main street has them for Christmas as well. Main St. is extremely nice and has a lot of cool restaurants. I can definitely see the appeal to living here, it really is a beautiful area.
