Residents of Bethany are very welcoming and polite! I grew up on the outskirts and went to school in Bethany. It’s a tight knit community. Some areas aren’t well kept but that could be lack of income or funding. If you are a visitor, you feel at home!
Personally, I like Bethany overall. I am not one for the hustle and bustle of big cities, and Bethany is a nice, quiet little place to live. But the good thing is that it is only a few miles away from Bricktown and the rest of OKC where anyone can go to hang out or get the 'big city' scene. Bethany has and is near some great restaurants, has decent schools, and plenty of churches. There's parks and lakes close by as well as plenty of options in grocery stores. Generally, everyone is friendly and helpful. really do enjoy living in Bethany.
Bethany has a small town feel even though it is in the OKC Metro. The people are invested in their community and both universities as well as their award winning public school district. Now that they have a new city manager and almost completely new council, they are headed in an exciting and progressive direction and everyone is enthusiastic!
