Bethany, CT is a very safe family friendly suburban neighborhood with a wonderful and involved community. However, if nightlife, a low commute time, or even high diversity is something you desire for a place to live, then Bethany is not the place for you. Bethany ranges from 15-30 minutes in proximity from the city and many reputable Connecticut colleges including Yale, Quinnipiac, Albertus Magnus, SCSU, and New Haven University. Nonetheless, the small town is loved for the clean air, privacy, and excellent education system. Additionally, the Clovernook Farm is an excellent place to get produce, dairy, and eggs, so if healthy living is part of your lifestyle, our family owned farm will never let you down!
Bethany is the quintessential New England small town. We are known primarily for being very horse-friendly (you only need one acre), but Bethany has lots of other advantages. The town itself is beautiful, especially in the fall. Because we are so small, there is a great community atmosphere here. If you go to one of the restaurants, you're almost certain to see someone you know. If you are looking for nightlife or close proximity to the city, Bethany is definitely not the place for you, but if you're searching for a town with a strong community that's a bit further off the beaten path, then Bethany really is a great place.
Bethany has been a great place for me to grow up. The public schools in Bethany are good and it is a very safe neighborhood. The people of Bethany care for each and want to better their community. However, Bethany is a very small town with very little diversity and if people stay here for too long without traveling outside of Bethany, it is easy to forget that the rest of the world is not like Bethany. I wished there were more Latino people like me or even people different than me, besides the classic all white American family. There is nothing wrong with all white American families I just wished I was able to experience different kinds of people and cultures growing up as a kid. Even though the Bethany community is not very diverse, the people in this community are some of the nicest people I ever met.
