i've basically lived my entire life in berwyn. I've always felt like it was a very safe community especially for the kids and teens. This community has made me kids their top priority for them to grow well and safe. There are hundreds of places to be able to have some fun shopping time and the community is well taken cared of. Everyone in this community also encourages for students to be educated and involved; they provide resources and jobs for them to be able to participate in. By growing up here, it had made my life and my parents lives easier considering that this is also a hispanic community and welcoming of any other culture.

I am originally from Oak Park, IL and moved to Berwyn (which borders Oak Park to the South) the I was 15 years old. This place is great! It's more like the city than a suburb...it is filled with historic Chicago brick bungalows which line each street up and down. The people are down-to-earth and friendly, and it is very diverse. The homes are affordable. Families are everywhere, and you'll always find kids playing ball in the alley or cursing in the park on their bikes. There is Metra, buses and the CTA blue Line, so its convenient to public transportation. You don't have to have a car. Now that Berwyn has a Starbucks, we've got it all!
Berwyn is a fairly clean and visually appealing neighborhood. I've lived there for most of my life and have attended the public schools in the area. I can say that it was pretty decent when considering safety precautions taken and the faculty and staff worked hard to provide a good learning environment. During my residency in Berwyn, I also found it fairly easy to find a job. I've worked at 3 different locations around and have had pretty good experiences. Working in the community allowed me to meet various of other residents and everyone seems very diverse.
