I have lived in this area for 30 years of my life, and to be honest my home goes back hundreds of years in my Polish side of the family. It's definitely a town like no other, but no different from the next!

The waterfront that attract out of town peoples to come to enjoyed the beaches, golf course, the waterfront

But the city limit of Benton Harbor need much improvement in housings, employments, health insurances, job training programs, social recreational opportunity for the youths, young adults, middle ages adults and seniors.
I love the access to the beach and the waterfront. This city is located right on the Saint Joseph River and connected to St Joseph attractions; children’s museum, . I love the fact that the air is clear of smog. This is a very small city with a big heart. Very family oriented with but limited amenities and almost no night life. The amenities are primarily limited. Fishing is abundantly sufficient. If you are looking for a boat ride and place to launch for a day cruise this is you city. The significant drawback for me was the fact that a liquor store exists in almost every remote area of the city which could fuel criminal activity. The city is also home to any miscreants from the federal prison system; sex offenders, pedophiles and other law offenders. They seem to be isolated to spots near the parole office in that city. But overall the city remains quiet.
