Bellevue is a charming little suburb of Pittsburgh. While every area has its downfalls, my family was relieved to find that Bellevue feels like a small town that just happens to sit only 8 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Everyone we've come into contact with has been extremely friendly and they remember you by name. There are a ton of little restaraunts and shops on the main drag. Our son attends Assumption School and I can tell you that we have never felt more welcomed in a Church or School family quite like this before. Bellevue is a pretty quiet area with young families and elderly folks making up the majority.
I really like the diversity of my community. There is a good mix of cultures and educational status. We often have numerous foreign families living in the school district of Northgate. I think Bellevue could improve upon their maintenance of the area. Maybe try planting more flowers or painting to brighten up the town.
I really like this town. It's close to practically everything that Pittsburgh has to offer and it's a safe neighborhood. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely move here again. The one thing that I don't like about this area is that it's a dry town - that is there aren't any bars within walking distance. Not like that's a major hinderance, it would just be nice. Hopefully in the future the ban on alcohol is lifted and the restaurants improve!
