Belleville township has recreation program geared to the kids. Thanks to this program there are a lot of activities throughout the year which bring the community together. They have movie night, block parties, activities during most holidays. The town has multiple cultures and families of all backgrounds. The school are pretty good. There is at least 1 school within walking distance anywhere in town. Mayor Melham is great and doing many things to continue to help Belleville NJ grow!

I've been in Belleville for over 11 years and while there are a few mechanisms the town can improve on, I've also witnessed a lot of change. For example, town has become more ethnic. When I first moved here, it was majority Italian and now the town is approximately 53% Hispanic. There are a number of people who are in tight situations in my town (around half of my school qualify for free or reduced lunch) and I appreciate that Belleville offers equal opportunity to them. But, there is a negative in that aspect because only the people who are given meal-based aid are allowed to take the SAT twice for free. I feel that my father's and many other taxpayers' money should be funding every high school student in the neighborhood's college admissions exams.
Nice, beggars free town. It feels safe. My neighborhood pretty mix asian , black, white and us Hispanic. I don’t use the public schools for my daughter this town should be ashamed of this poor grade a C thats sad. My house is waking distance from supermarket pharmacy and restaurant. Just perfect it got a 3 because of education
