The city I live in is an agriculture and industrial town. The refineries are requesting two year degrees with experience. The town is small. Belle Glade is more of a “who you know” place. This is a slap in the face when it comes to providing for a family. The poverty level is high. The job market is reduced to farm work, fast food restaurants, and either prison institutions or schools. From May until September the money is very tight resulting in drug dealing, crime rate skyrockets, and the employers cut schedules drastically (according to the business the store generates. The blue tarps are very visible, some places are on historical stilts, they are infested with bugs and or rodents. The places need painting while others are left dilapidated from the previous damages. The majority of the population are over the age of 55 and younger. The cost of living continues to rise, but the pay is does not. the affordable housing is mainly for the farmers.

It's a very small rural town without many jobs but a lot of land. There's so much potential here and many factories. But many of the works being conducted in the fields are being done by machinery taking jobs away from the patrons of the community. Many people are having to drive an average of an hour away from home to find jobs and support their families. I am from a major city so I didn't mind the move to something a lot more quiet and less congested but there's really no room for growth professionally in this small town.
The Belle Glade living situation is somewhat "average". The public schools are very good as they set out to achieve academic success. Belle Glade is also very diverse as there is a good amount of people of every race in the town. The cost of living in Belle Glade is also good as the cost of many valuables and necessities are cheap compared to surrounding towns and cities. However, the safety and nightlife is not as good, as many dangerous situations have risen. Although, the safety and nightlife is also improving as the administration set out to improve the areas.
