Do you want to pursue a career in plastics? Then Beaverton, the thermoforming capital of the world, is just the place for you! If not, but you'd like to live in a small town, then Beaverton is also a pretty good choice. Larger cities, such as Midland, Harrison, and Bay City are all an hour's drive or less away, so you're never too far away from the urban centers.

My time growing up in Beaverton was long. My family stayed put in the same house in the rural area of the county, about a 10 min drive from town. It felt isolatingly small, and I was eager to leave by 8th grade.
What I liked was that the people there were all pretty friendly with one another. It was a bit clickey, but what do you expect from a small town? Whenever I go back, I get a strong urge to return to this little place, because it makes me feel happy.
What I want to see change, is an upgrade for the school system. It has lost two buildings over my life time, and it's just too cramped to have a positive impact on growing minds. I hope that every store in town gets a good make over and restoration in the next 15 years, because our town deserves to look nice and preserve the history it holds.
Beaverton is a tiny little town with some amazing people in their community. The newly renovated activity center is a wonderful place to go have a cup of coffee and muffin at the cafe, read a book at the library , take in a yoga class, or walk through the Beaverton history of the plastics industry which is huge in the area. Stroll down the street to have the best wet burrito at the Beaverton Tavern. Also, have great fireworks on 4th of July.
