Great, little community. It's so diverse in both age and race which is awesome. People here are old-fashion friendly, neighborly and hospitable which make it feel extra homey. Prices are great, especially for starting a family or first time buyers. The best part is they vote red here so it's all-around a true American town!
Have lived here since 1984, it was a really nice place when we moved in. Little by little it's become just another busy residential neighborhood where no one even waves or says hi to their neighbors. Mostly Italian and from North Jersey and Staten Island, and they're recreating those places down here. They tear down all the trees because they don't want to rake, the same town council members have run unopposed for decades and you'll see the "stars 'n' bars" and Trump flags on most every block. Can't wait for the opportunity to move away and never look back.
A comfortable place to live. A family-oriented, quiet area. I never had any problem here. It has nice beaches and fun things to do. In the winter, it less crowded so it is nice to take a walk on the boardwalk. There are plenty of small businesses to support, especially authentic food places. During the holidays, people are passionate about putting lights up and making the area look pretty. It is also right near two major cities, NYC and Philadelphia, with reliable transportation options. Locally, Toms River and the Brick area has all the chain stores if you ever needed anything.
