Few stores for shopping, a couple nice restaurants downtown, many dollar stores, bars and churches.
Many in Battle Creek are struggling financially with companies leaving such as Kellogg's warehouse. Crime and drugs are a problem.
We constantly have aircraft in the sky, One company repairs plans and the 2nd one is a flight training School. We also have Fort Custor with weekend military training. A missile defense system is waiting for approval. A few factory's also add to the constant roar. Denso factory and the hospital are the largest employer. Downtown has a few beautiful older homes along with many in need of repairs.many newer nice neighborhoods. Pluses are Binder Park Zoo, many small lakes that are excellent for fishing. One very small public Beach but to shallow for swimming only wading.

I thoroughly enjoy living in this location of Battle Creek, the school systems are great! The local college is convenient and you have everything you need considering the size of the town. I would like to see more family friendly places to take children to. The town of Battle Creek is not very kid friendly, unlike what it use to be in the 1980's - early 90's.
Small town but also lots to it. People here for the most part are kind. Harper Creek is a great school here for your kids to be a part of. Great athletics and Kellogg's is here also so the longest breakfast table in the summer is a ton of fun to be apart of!
