I would rate Batesville, MS three of five stars. I am a big fan of the country-like atmosphere of the city. Although Batesville is not a huge city, I feel as if it is very congested for how small it is. I would recommend more shopping malls (I say more but there are none). I think more than one or two apartment complexes would be nice. There are at least two gas stations on every corner. I would recommend maybe tearing down a few of them and putting family friendly stores in.

I've been in Batesville my entire life. It's a great small town if you're older or love small country towns. But if you want to experience things and have opportunities, then it is not the place for that.
Batesville is a typical small town. There is not much to do for entertainment - not even a movie theater. Restaurants are mostly fast food. There are some nice boutiques for shopping. However, an outlet mall located here is practically empty.
