Bartlett has wonderful people! A smile goes a long way, and everyone is always willing to go the extra mile to help. It is a really clean, quiet and safe city; the police are always willing to stop and talk to the neighborhood kids. The schools are great in Bartlett; Bartlett High School offers summer programs for children of all ages. Bartlett always has activities and happenings for the elderly, the adults, the teens, tweens, kids, toddlers, and even babies! The aquatic center community pool was recently remodeled and is a hot spot. There are hidden gems in Bartlett and new places to always explore!
Bartlett is what most envision when it comes to the Midwest suburbs. It's quiet, nothing truly happens here and that's what makes it so peaceful. Children run around freely and its known that they'll be okay. All this while still being diverse. Being a first generation Mexican daughter I never once felt out of place here, classrooms are diverse in a way most schools lack. Although if were to change one thing, is the walkability of the community. Within the small pockets of houses this usually isn't an issue, but when it comes to walking to the local strip mall sidewalks seem to disappear. This could easily be fixed with the addition of sidewalks and more crosswalks. If Bartlett were to add these changes, I know there'd be a deeper sense of community. People would have the daily opportunity of stepping outside their houses- and their cars- to bump into their neighbor, say hello. To make real lasting relationships.
I grew up here and I'd have to say it's a nice peaceful town. The roads are all in good condition, i feel safe in this town. There's also a nice sense of community in the area which is also nice, and if i ask a neighbor or some help they'll always be willing to. There are plenty of stores and shops throughout the town where you can get most of everything you would need, and if not there's stores in the nearby town of Bloomingdale that have the rest. Overall it's pretty good. The only thing i would really like to see change is the taxes, as they are somewhat high. Even growing up here i know they're ridiculously high for the area.
