Cute, quiet, and beautiful town. Friendly, small town community. A nice quiet escape from Worcester and surrounding cities.
Barre is a small town. At one time it was a friendly town where everyone knew and spoke to each other. Today, it still has a small town feel, but the friendliness has dwindled. There is one small grocery store, one independent pharmacy, one gas station, and two banks. The young parents in town are trying to create activities for the children, and build a town that will offer more opportunities for those who choose to live there.
Barre's great if you like small towns, but it's 45 minutes away from the nearest city so it's hard finding anything to do. Lots of farms surrounding it, a couple pizza places, churches and a few gas stations are all there is.
