I really enjoy the rural setting, and sleepy town feel of it all. However, Sometimes I wish that more was happening in this town! Other than that, great trails, beautiful nature, and fun Geocaching spot!
I haven’t lived in Barkhamsted for long but it’s becoming my favorite place, all the scenic places and wildlife is amazing. It’s such a quiet area with a lot but really nothing going on at the same time, i love it and i’m glad it’s my new home.
The things I love most about Barkhamsted are the access to surrounding towns and the nature preservations. We have state forests, a ski resort, and hiking trails everywhere. We are 1-2 hours from the nation-known cities such as Boston and New York and some of the best beaches in New England. Although I always joke, there are more bears than people, the town offers the right amount of social events to feel like you are a part of it.
