Living in Banks has been a great experience for me. My graduating class is 87 and it allows everyone to know each other and be a tight knit group. We may not all get along and hang out but we do support each other. We have great school spirit. It is country living but close to neighboring towns so there is plenty to do or nothing to do depending on your needs. We even have a quarter mile dirt race track in town! Some newer residents don't really appreciate it but it is exciting to watch the races during the summer. The third weekend in August we have the Banks BBQ. It's our annual truck and tractor pulls. At the end of the weekend we have a combine demolition derby. Yes, crashing big combines. It doesn't get much more country than that!!

Banks is a small town full of wonderful people. There is an elementary school, middle school, and high school all on the same road. There is a local thrift way and pharmacy in town. There is a local church, library, veterinary clinic, and 3 small restaurants. Every Saturday night in the summer months, the Sunset Speedway hosts car racing. It is an amazing little town!
While many people are open to expanding our town, they do not like change. Many are very religious and don't like people who do not go to church. Also, lots of people have been assaulted, and is very unsafe for those, because if they report it they get harassed. However, many younger generations are more open to new life.
