Most of the reviews are not current. In the past few years the downtown is full of new business's , housing is booming and most definitely the best small town in Georgia to live. Access is Interstate 575 with express lanes to Atlanta make it very convenient and fast. We are 5 miles to all the shopping you want, Walmart, Publix and fast food. Costco is 20 minutes to Woodstock and 30 minutes to Whole Foods. Enjoy quiet country living with out all the congestion for shopping--Georgia's best kept secret!!
Ball Ground if you are looking for a small town, and rural place to live then Ball Ground is a perfect place. Personally, that is not what I look for in a place to live, and would rather have near by stores besides a Dollar General, and a decent library among other things. The roads are not well kept, and their are many old unused houses and buildings. Downtown is decent with a couple good family owned restaurants though, but it is very small and could use some expansion!
I've never felt unsafe in the two years I have lived in Ball Ground, there are some great small businesses on the main street, the people are friendly and overall, I like it much better than living in Marietta, or Canton.
