Baldwin City Reviews
Gotta be a great town! They used the name of the city for the finale address of Dr A. Karev, of Grey's Anatomy. That said, I live not far from there and it is lovely! Charm, friendships, caring and kind. The type of place that you think of when you think of the heart of America. Oh....and they have a great college, too! Baker University is a great place to learn!
Baldwin is a small, tight knit community. The town itself has a lot to offer in the way of community, but as a college town there's not much it offers students. It is closely located to larger towns which provide entertainment and nightlife. The K-12 program was wonderful before middle school, and not great after that, though there has been some level of improvement over the last few years. They do have more to offer than other smaller communities and is considered a great place to raise a family.
This isn't a rant. The issues I've come across in this town is I can not walk in my town without seeing a rampant drug problem. The schools here have a terrible bullying problem. And staffing for transportation is a nightmare. If you ask and cop in town beside the one cop I can trust there is no drug problem or school bullying problem. I find that the one good thing that could have happened to this town a walmart grocery was shut down because it would hurt local businesses. But then the second has station in town sold out a franchise company and now we only have one gas station. The baldwin city market is overpriced and it's only competition is a dollar general. I find it funny the neighborhood around the high school and junior high is the worst neighborhood to be around. Full of drugs and kids playing in the streets towards midnight. I also find it funny the the mayors house has had her ditch dug and redone more than anywhere in the town.
