I live an extremely rural area. The population of baker is roughly 1,800 people. We are growing do to the oilfield but we do not have that big of a business industry. We only have one or two sit down restaurants, the rest are bars that serve food from 10 am to 10 pm. There is only one grocery store in town and it is extremely high priced. There is only one retail clothing store and it is basically for mid aged to older women. The business industry is lacking but it has the necessities.
Review Baker
Due to the oilfield traffic that has came into and around Baker there are job openings in several places. The oilfield has also greatly increased the pay compared to other areas. The only downfall is that if or when the oilfield is no longer in or around Baker many people will lose their jobs and the pay that they have been receiving.
As long as I can remember my hometown has been extremely safe. But recently with the oilfield coming in there has been a slight increase in crime. With this increase the city has hired on more policeman to help keep the crime rates low. I still feel safe just not as safe as before.
