The environment is nice and quiet for the most part. There are plenty of kids in the neighborhood and everyone treats each other like family! I've lived here for about 3 years and I'm glad I moved here.

I raised 5 children in Baker. The school originally was good but it changed as the children got older. Living on a fixed income I couldn't afford to change schools. There was lack of community involved activities and with so many relocated hurricane Katrina victims the neighbors and school system kept tarnishing. But as of 2017/2018 things are slowing turning around.
I have been living in Baker since I was in the first grade and I am now in twelfth grade at Baker High School. I love my community and the people who make it safe and nice. This past year we experienced a flood that affected not only me but some of my fellow classmates and family members too. This flood taught my community a lot about working together. People were going to others homes helping them fix what they can etc. My school was also flooded so my high school had to move to the middle school which was down the street from the high school. But we took a big lost this year with the flood coming through, together we are managing to make it through.
