Averill Park Reviews
Rating 3.67 out of 5 6 reviews
I grew up and went to school in Averill Park. Now, I am in college, so I am not around as much, but I still visit during breaks and such. To summarize, Averill Park is a small rural to suburbs towns. The community is pretty friendly. In the town of Averill Park itself, there isn't much to do, but it is close to plenty of things. It's beautiful during the fall time. Not very much diversity, majority of residents are middle class white folks. Pretty good town to grow up in, but probably not one you want to stay in for the rest of your life
Averill Park has a stigma of drug problems that does not truly exist, as well as a stigma that we are a bunch of racist 'hicks.' Averill Park does have a few interesting characters, but most of us are normal suburban people and do not fit the stereotype we've been given. I've seen the people of this community come together to help support each other over numerous causes and believe it is a great place to be living.
Averill Park is your typical small town. There's not a ton to do, but most students are able to find things. The athletic program is focused heavily on football and could use a reboot, but in any team you join you'll create strong bonds within.
