Avalon is a great tourist town. Although a little overpriced for locals, it is a wonderful place. The dive park is always fun to go to and the new art structures that they added in to it are amazing. I also love the size of the town and do not think that it needs to get any bigger. That is the appeal of the island- it is mostly undeveloped. The bars, restaurants and cafes take care of you and provide a great experience too. The botanical garden is also really pretty. If you are able to travel outside of the town, that's where the real and wonderful adventures begin. Overall, Avalon is a fantastic place.
Review Avalon
Avalon is a quaint town that is full of beauty and wonder. Within five minutes you find yourself at the top of a mountain, with ocean views all around you. Walk down front street and you will see coffee shops overlooking the beautiful beaches. It truly is a slice of paradise that many people come to visit for vacation, but a few lucky people such as myself get the opportunity to live here. It has the feel of a small town, with one post office, one bank, and one main grocery store, so you can not go anywhere without running into your neighbor, pastor, or best friend.
It's a teeny tiny town right on the water. It's very unique in its own way and has lots of charm. The water drought effects it severely though, both in the way people live and the way the town looks. The schools are a part of The LA county and are probably doing the best they can out of what they can get out there, but it could definitely use some work.
