Growing up in Austin provided me multiple opportunities to experience activities of interest to me. I have mainly been interested in the variety of sports available to participate in which is how I have met my closest friends. Sharing a common interest is what brought us together. Learning to work together as a team has sealed that connection between us and allowed us to explore other common interests together through school, community and personal interest activities. I foresee these friends as lifelong friends.
I have felt safe in my community from the time I was a small boy to the present young man I have become. Police officers would frequently patrol the city and residential streets as a reminder to all they are there to protect. They stopped by my home when I was playing in my yard and let me look in the patrol car and try out the sirens. Good reminder they are our friends.

I was born and raised in Austin. I have always appreciated the family oriented atmosphere. There are many options for low income families, especially the children. Austin keeps children in mind as they grow. Some examples include but are not limited to: parks, summer camps,Match Box Theater, multiple accessible gyms, The Hormel Nature Center and of course the rec center that is being built now. The education and opportunites students are able to receive are incredibly better than other districts. You can see this by looking at sports and "college ready" opportunites.
Austin is a town full of opportunity if you know where to look. With programs such as "Discover Austin" ready to help new residents find their niche, multiple choices in education, a local college, and local activities, there is something or everyone.
