I moved here 3 years ago, and since my house was within the six flags area, there were rumors that the place was very dangerous as many burglars would commit their heinous acts here. However, in the last 3 years, I have not encounter or heard anything of that sort. This is clear definition that the area, not only is it safe, but it is full of life and incredible people. The entire city is circled by convenient stores and various job sites. This makes it an ideal place to settle in. My favorite spot is the Mexican stores that would roast corn during the summer and the smell of that corn basted with butter fills the entire area. Austell is an incredible place!
I live in Austell, Ga and what I like the most about this neighborhood is how close it is to the actual city of Atlanta. It's about 15 minutes away which is pretty accessible most days. The city of Atlanta is getting more and more populated which makes the traffic more and more over whelming. My neighborhood also has several grocery and fast food chains within a 2 mile radius which provides plenty of job opportunity, Three elementary schools including one that was just built over the pandemic. My neighborhood is pretty diverse and affordable. And most importantly the safety is pretty good.
Although I was born in Atlanta, I grew up in Austell for the majority of my life. I would say the people are kind- all depending on how you treat and respect others. I love how the grocery stores aren't too far from home, just 5-10 mins away without traffic. The neighborhoods always seemed safe to me growing up, I would ride bikes and take walks around the neighborhood with my family. The local restaurants feel like family- if you go often, they will remember your face and talk with you as if they've known you their whole lives. Your friends that you went to school with, will always live near and their parents will always remember you. So many fond memories growing up, but as years go by: the city changes and advances and it feels strange not seeing certain places anymore, but you get accustomed to it and everything will feel just right again
