Atwater is Not a suburb of Modesto. It's a suburb of the city of Merced! It's a nice & peaceful place for families to raise children. Many Elementary schools & 2 high schools. While not a big town, it does offer a variety of shopping choices, for instance a Super Walmart, Super Target, Ross, Savemart Supermarket & Starbucks, Walgreens & many other stores. There's also a really cool the Castle Air Force museum where you can walk around and view all kinds of retired aircraft used in previous wars & even an old Air Force one plane!

Atwater is a small town in the California Central Valley. It is small enough to know a lot of people but also big enough to not know absolutely everybody. Although there aren't too many big stores/activities to do here, Merced is only a 15 minute drive away (next town over) and has 2 movie theaters and a mall. Atwater is very big on agriculture and I'm proud to say that we contribute a lot to ag and care a lot about it. Atwater is also only about 2 hours from the beach and from mountains. This is a big bonus when families want to take trips because they can be made into day trips or a weekend travel. Atwater makes a great home.
I like the environment of where I live quite a bit. It is very quiet where I live and it is a pretty picture perfect little community. I actually live outside of Atwater in another little development. My neighbors are great, and they are always so nice and kind and willing to help each other when needed. My neighborhood makes everyone feel welcomed and that is something that you do not see very often in this type of development.
