The great thing about Atlantic is the small community. Generally if there are any issues, they are taken care of by the entire town. There are always people to help and donate time and goods for a cause. The one thing that this small community lacks is, entertainment. While they have some staple for entertainment, the ability to do these things depends on weather. The golfing and Frisbee golfing are pretty fantastic, but those aren't really great for the winter. The only real thing to do in the winter is utilizing the movie theater. Not enough options.

Atlantic is made up of mostly people ranging in age from 45 and up. Rent is high. Many people have to work two jobs just to pay rent and health insurance. There are many small businesses which makes it difficult for employers to offer health insurance. There is little to do there for young people. Bars are about the only thing to do. There is a movie theater that does a great job showing current movies. It is difficult to keep young people there because of the lack of opportunity. Even though it can be difficult to live in a small town it always rates better than any city.
Atlantic is a great town to grown up in. Everyone here is very kind and you definitely get the small town feel. My class size is 96 so its ver nice to be able to know everyone in my grade. Atlantic can also have a down side. Sometimes there just isn't enough to do in Atlantic and it can be hard to find stuff to do, so the majority of the time you can drive an hour to Des Moines or to Omaha and find something to do. That is another great thing about Atlantic we are right in the middle so everything is about the same distance away as far as teams in our high school conference and big cities like Des Moines and Omaha.
