Athens Reviews

Athens is a small quiet town. There isn't very much to do. There is a small 2 year college and that's a plus. There are about 15 places to eat , but if you eat out everyday you get tired of it. There are certain parts of town to stay away from, but the new sheriff is cracking down on the drug dealers. The crime rate isn't all that bad. There has been a couple murders that I know of and a couple that have gone unsolved. The town is growing so it's getting crowded. There is a Walmart but if you need something to do Athens isn't the place. The locals usually go to Tyler or Dallas for amusement.
Review Athens
Athens is a pretty place to live or to retire since it's like the hub cap that sits 45 minutes to Tyler or 1.5 hours to Dallas. There is a Walmart, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, other places to eat, and Brookshires. The only thing I wish that would change is maybe offer a gym that offers daycare in it, so that parents with little ones can have the option of of taking and leaving them in daycare so they are able to work out. I know so many people that would love that idea, but no one has had it work.
I have lived in Athens for seven years and I have learned so much from the people, such as their kindness and enthusiasm. Although it may not be the most wonderful looking, It has the best people. Athens is a very large area with many different options when it comes to food stores, clothing stores, restaurants, etc... the list goes on. Opportunities are endless in this city.
