Athens Reviews

I love that Athens has a great night life. There are always concerts and art openings going on as well as a booming bar scene. There are new restaurants opening up downtown. The breweries here have events often that cater both to the college student population as well as the locals. For instance, there was a Latino Fest at Creature Comforts Brewery in October that drew in people from all over. There are art festivals as well, such as the Indie South Festival that is also held in October. I would like to see some of the shops downtown cater less to high end clientele markets in terms of clothing options, but everything else is great!
Review Athens
Athens is definitely unique and contains a lot of culture; you just have to keep a keen eye out for it. Athens is primarily a college town run by students so it's easy to get caught up in the nightlife scene, but Athens does have more than that. If you look closely you see that Athens has a naturalist side with parks integrated throughout the town, and the whole town loves animals, especially dogs. Also, Athens is huge for the music scene, but not huge with the cost. It's very common to see great bands for hardly any cost at all! Athens has a tremendous amount delicious restaurants for a fraction of what you would pay in other cities as well. Athens is definitely a town to visit or even live in for a little while.
Most would say that Athens, GA is a college town and to be fair it is. However, I have found that there is so much more to Athens than the downtown bars. Of course, the music scene is world renowned owing to the fame of the B-52s and REM. Yet, remarkable talent abounds in the spoken word, visual arts, comedy, and larger music scene. Interestingly, the rap scene is untapped and brimming to burst. Truly, one doesn't need to travel to Atlanta to find some righteous and bouncin' hip-hop. What's more is that Athens is home to some truly inspired active lifestyle culture; hiking, biking, climbing, circus-arts, running, mixed martial arts, yoga, crossfit, and so on. Indeed, the cycling here is on point! One of the coolest things to be a part of is the Twilight Criterium which is a nighttime pro-cycling race held every spring in downtown Athens. Without a doubt, if you are willing to seek for it, Athens has a vast and varied culture waiting to be explored!
