My experience with Athens has been great. There is always something going on here. Some of my favorite parts of Athens are the coffee shops, restaurants, music, and campus life. My favorite coffee shop is Buvez. It's new and just opened this past year, and it is already my favorite study spot! My other favorite coffee shops are Iron Works and Jittery Joes. They have great coffee and a great atmosphere. Another great thing about Athens is all the incredible food! My very favorite restaurant is Taqueria Del Sol. It's mexican food and it is so yummy. I get the same thing every time and it's my favorite meal. There are also great restaurants downtown like The Place, Ted's Most Best, and Taqueria Tsunami. There is a great variety and something for everyone. Another great part of Athens is the music! There are many local bands, as well as the Georgia Theater. Big names come to the Georgia Theater and there is always a show to see. Overall, I love Athens and there's always something to do!

Athens is a small, college town filled with friendly people. I moved here from Norfolk, Virginia, where people are not all that nice. Norfolk has high crime and low rated schools. My parents knew we needed a safer place to live along with better schools for our future. I attend Oconee County schools, which are rated number one in the state. I am so happy to call Athens and Oconee County my home. Thank you mom and dad!
Welcome to Athens! Here, the first thing you will notice is the intense passion for the Georgia Bulldogs. If you enjoy college football, you will fit right in! We are also well-known for our thriving music scene where legendary bands including REM and the B-52's were born. Feel free to take a stroll through the scenic 313 acre State Botanical Gardens. Athens also offers a lively night-life with an endless supply of clubs, bars, coffee shops, and art festivals scattered about the city.

The only down-side to Athens is the cost of living which is a little more on the pricey side. Luckily, there are job opportunities around every corner due to the city's growing population.

Come and see for yourself what Athens has to offer! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
