Welcome to Athens! Here, the first thing you will notice is the intense passion for the Georgia Bulldogs. If you enjoy college football, you will fit right in! We are also well-known for our thriving music scene where legendary bands including REM and the B-52's were born. Feel free to take a stroll through the scenic 313 acre State Botanical Gardens. Athens also offers a lively night-life with an endless supply of clubs, bars, coffee shops, and art festivals scattered about the city.

The only down-side to Athens is the cost of living which is a little more on the pricey side. Luckily, there are job opportunities around every corner due to the city's growing population.

Come and see for yourself what Athens has to offer! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Review Athens
Athens is THE best college town to live in! The love and support for the University of Georgia Bulldogs is Athens is unbelievable. The historic areas of Athens are so beautiful and the night life here is so fun. Although, there are certain areas of Athens that could be cleaned up, there is a lot of homeless and rough areas that are almost unsafe feeling, but that is NOT the majority of Athens. Overall, I would highly recommend Athens, Georgia as a place to live, especially for a college student. After all, you can't beat a Saturday in Athens!
I love that Athens has a great night life. There are always concerts and art openings going on as well as a booming bar scene. There are new restaurants opening up downtown. The breweries here have events often that cater both to the college student population as well as the locals. For instance, there was a Latino Fest at Creature Comforts Brewery in October that drew in people from all over. There are art festivals as well, such as the Indie South Festival that is also held in October. I would like to see some of the shops downtown cater less to high end clientele markets in terms of clothing options, but everything else is great!
