Atascadero is a great place to raise a family. Although the town is small, it is filled with incredible people. Making friends in school is amazing and playing sports with them is even better. The town comes together to watch the sports teams and makes you feel important. There is not much to do here, which needs to change. There needs to be more fun, outgoing places that attract the youth and tourists.

I like how friendly everyone is and the community is so tight-knit! The people are amazingly sweet and everywhere you go, you’re greeted with smiles and a conversation with one of our locals.
I grew up in Atascadero. I love it. Growing up here was a bit boring, so I feel like the city could find more "teenager friendly" things to do. But as an adult it's quaint, and quiet. There are a bunch of great locally owned restaurants, a few bars (no club scene, that's 20 minutes south in SLO) and local breweries are opening up left and right.
