Small train town with quality and personable shops, restaurants, cafes, and even a local brewery! Right now you can walk down the main street and look at all the Christmas lights...a wonderful experience. Ashland is a warm and lovely place where everyone knows everyone and everyone participates in supporting local artists and businesses. The local theatre scene is wonderful, and often stages productions in the Ashland Theatre or Hanover Arts and Activies Center (both located right in town.)
I love the small town feel while still being close enough to cities that you’re not travelling ridiculous distances. The people are friendly, and shops are wonderful, and there is a surplus of things to do.
It’s awesome! I love it here! The community is amazing and the people are so nice and loving.I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
I like the life of the town. People are very friendly and trendy. I like that there is a healthy amount of local businesses and corporate businesses.
Ashland tends to be a VERY friendly and accepting community. Strangers are quick to start conversations, regardless of what you look like or who you are. I would say that it is this openness that characterizes the town.
I love ashland!! The town is so cute and everyone is so nice. Their are a few rough neighborhoods but you just have to be careful! But absolutely an amazing town.
Ashland, VA is a small town maybe 25 minutes from the city of Richmond. It's very quiet and knit with many businesses that keeps it booming. The schools are excellent and there's even a college (Randolph Macon) in the center. The community is pretty sociable. There's no night life, but again the city is nearby if you would like to experience that.
Very friendly . Small town community with lots of family activities, outside music venues and festivities. You see lots of people out and about. The town has benches, rocking chairs, picnic tables throughout the small town
Good but the police are not willing to make it more public of activity within the neighborhood. My leasing office has been trying to get information provided about occurrences within the property and the police tell her its not required to make the property manager aware of the event and then directed her to a general website. Seems lazy to me!
Ashland has a small town feel with close proximity to several major cities. For this reason, people call Ashland "The Center of the Universe".
Its a quaint little area that is super enjoyable and laid-back, definitely a slower pace as well. Very nice people!
Great Living experience! I've been living here for a year now since moving from Rockville. I like all the new restaurant additions for Ashland as they keep a great variety of local restaurants with franchises. I love how you can have access to the train that is close by to make trips with.
I love Ashland! It is full of great shops and restaurants, as well as super friendly people. The town is family-friendly and welcoming to visitors.
Nice town. It has a college in the center of town but it is a town where you would feel safe. It is a small town. It is a part of a great county which has great educational standards.
Ashland is a very small town filled with happy people. Because Ashland is small you will not have to travel far to shop at any store. Ashland has its very own train station making it very convienant for anyobne who wants to travel. Not that far from the train station is Randolph-Macon College. Overall, if you like peace and quiet and want to get away from all the busy city life than Ashland, Va is perfect.
Ashland is a very small and quiet town, it's great for the older retired community. Everything is close by in walking distance, as well as being able to see some of the old historic houses. There's also an Amtrak train that runs through, great for easy travel.
Small town feel and country living, but close to modern conveniences. It's only 15 minutes into the city of Richmond and is easily accessible by the highway. The town offers great family activities such as the Christmas parade and Train Day. You are also close to Kings Domimion Amusement Park. It's a quaint little town in the midst of a lot.
