Ashland city is an ok town. In the past 17 years of living here it has added some new things to the town, but not much, and for the most part there mainly more food places and/or restaurants that they have added. From what I have observed, there's really not too much community event and/or activities, and if there is any there not that good. Not only that, but as far as I know the schools aren't too great either. And especially for me and my special needs, they were horrible while I attended them, and we tried pretty much every elementary school in the county. I wouldn't recommend sending your child to any of the schools if they have a disability, are blind or visually impaired, deaf, or have any special needs. Other than that, there are some more better sides to the town. Your right by the Cumberland River and there are a few placed to fish and/or go boating. The population isn't that big at all aiming around 5,500 people that live here.
I love it here! I was born and raised in Cheatham county and I can't imagine living anywhere else. For the most part, everyone is so sweet and it really feels like a community!
There are some great nature experiences in Ashland City, like the River Bluff area and the bicentennial bike trail. Growth in the area is overwhelming the current infrastructure a bit and the retail offerings are lacking. Proximity to Nashville is very convenient.
