Ashland Reviews
Rating 3.27 out of 5 66 reviews
I've lived here for over a year and love it (for reference I'm from the Charleston area in WV). Ashland has a wonderful small town feel. There are plenty of places to eat, the schools are really nice, and people are super friendly. The town is very walker friendly as well. Central Park is beautiful, with a lot of people playing tennis, walking, and visiting the dog park. The park also does a Christmas light show that is gorgeous. They have an excellent library, which is one of the nicest around. The price of living is extremely low, and there are many beautiful and architectural homes. The gaming culture is huge here with Time Warp and Goblin Traders really close. I see people of all ages, and everyone has a smile on their face. A great place to live and have a family!
It is my hometown and it can be a decent area to live in but the pay rate isn't very good and the homeless population it way too high. The city doesn't do much to help the homeless and every single morning, no matter the time of year, you see people sleeping all over the place. It isn't a very good sight to see.
Ashland is a peaceful place to live. Nothing much happens aside from the big Christmas parade in December and the lights they put up in the park. However, it’d be nice to get more things to do around there! Things that might draw in tourists. Ashland used to be the city to be in after all! A city pool maybe.
