Artesia, NM has friendly people, a local arts theater, youth and adult sports and our beloved hometown coffee house that serves coffees, teas, frozen drinks, aqua frescas, soups and sandwiches, snacks and ice creams served up with free WiFi and friendly smiles. This is a hot spot for teenagers, families and business professionals alike.
Our school system is all about the students academics and sports. Our local businesses support our students every way possible.
Artesia is probably like most places with a population of under 15,000. We work hard and lookout for each other. We pull over on the shoulder when emergency services are coming behind us out of concern for the unknown person requiring aid praying they will make it through what ever has happened. When we come up on a funeral procession we respectively turn off our music and slow down so the grieving families can focus on the situation at hand.
We respect our elders and love our children. We are a friendly town.

Small town atmosphere with great opportunities. When I moved here I was scared about coming from a smaller town, however it feels like a small town.
