Appleton, WI is awesome! This is my 3rd year living here! I am located near the Fox River Mall, which includes Target, Walmart, Goodwill and some restaurants. There are 2 highways: Highway 41 runs straight through Appleton, and goes down towards Chicago, making it easier to get cities around you. 441 connects both sides of Appleton to make your commute from one side to the other smooth. Typically, you have stores on both sides of town so its convenient. A farmers market is held in the summer. You can buy local produce, hear local musicians, and see vendors. The vibe is upbeat, and it makes the weekends so fun. The Performing Arts Center (PAC) is the home to entertainment. You can go to bridal shows, to seeing a Broadway play! Appleton is also located 25 mins south of Green Bay, 20 mins north of Oshkosh, and 1.5 hrs from Milwaukee.
I have lived in several other places in Wisconsin and Appleton is where I proudly call home! I love that Appleton has good safety, public schools, and amenities, all for an affordable cost of living. Appleton is really working on developing the community, especially cultural/arts/music events. Mile of Music is one weekend you do not want to miss!
