It's a really nice community. Calm and quiet, nice people, lots of great scenery (parks, beasches, walking trails, etc.)

Our town is very small. Howard has a gas station, bbq restaurant, a bar, and a few pizza places. Everyone that lives in Howard considers Mt. Vernon as "town", so Mt. Vernon's business is decent. There is a Kroger, Walmart, Lowes, K-Mart, and JcPenny. There are some other small businesses that are not as popular. We don't have that many mom-and-pop shops around our area. Sometimes it can be hard to find things around here. We don' have that many clothing places so when you need something it usually means you have to take a trip to Polaris mall. You can normally get food that you need, but some products are hard.
Because the town is small, most people know everyone else. As a result employers are often kind towards their employs and people seem to respect them for the most part. There are a few exceptions.
