Crime & Safety
Our community has a huge variety of activities for all ages and interests. There are multiple theatre venues that host lots of different events, like fundraisers, concerts, plays, and musicals. It's very easy to get involved, and newcomers have no problem diving in to the community. There are food pantries, and soup kitchen-esque programs to help the underprivileged in the area, and this definitely improves the quality of life for everyone involved. There are dog parks for pet owners, and most people who come to the area live here for a long time!
My neighborhood, as well as this area in general (known to locals as the "Chippewa Valley") is a great place to live! Eau Claire, a nearby city is a college town, with all the cute coffee shops, artsy activities, and goings-on that college towns come with. I went to high school at Chippewa Falls Senior High School, where they are constantly making efforts to improve their students' experiences, both in the classroom and in their homes. There are always events going on in the Chip. Valley at the plethora of theatres and other venues. Great stuff for people of all ages and interests!
There are a variety of housing situations for all walk of life. There is a good amount of housing available, and there is a healthy competition among the developments- this is a popular and growing area that wants to attract people! There are some neighborhoods that are more rough than others, but even in these most people have the opportunity to improve their situation. We don't have a problem with homelessness, as there are programs to help house people. Prices of most rental properties are very reasonable.
