Crime & Safety
Living in Texas we don't really have a set four seasons; the weather here is constantly changing and we could experience all four seasons in one week. Aledo does occasionally have a bad thunderstorm or we are under tornado watch. Droughts happen quite often; after all, Texas is pretty hot. Dealing with them for so long though droughts do not really bother anyone. We just know that neighborhoods will be under water conservation laws during the hottest months and our lawns will most likely not be green. Overall, severe weather is not usually a concern in Aledo and that is pretty great.
Aledo only has three restaurants that are not fast food. One being Railhead (barbecue), one being Milano's (Italian), and one being Maria Bonita's (Mexican); none of which are very good. The options for nightlife or bars are extremely limited. Occasionally, Railhead will have a band come play in the summer, but that is about it for nightlife in Aledo. If you are looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night, you better be willing to make the 30 minute drive to Fort Worth. There is not very many options or variety in a small town like Aledo.
I live in a small town, so there is not a lot of variety in the businesses we have. Most things are more expensive here because we do not have department stores or a Walmart. The downtown area is full of boutiques and salons. We have one grocery store in town, a couple restaurants, and way more banks than a town this size needs. Although Aledo does not have as much variety as a larger town, such as Fort Worth would have, one could get everything they need here.
