Coming from an even smaller town, moving to Anna gave me a glimpse of diversity and the inclusiveness that brings with it. I’ve loved getting out of the toxic community I was previously a part of. However, Anna is still a small, conservative, mostly-christian town. Thought it is certainly better than my previous town, you’ll still hear slurs like the R & F slur at school thrown around without consequence. There is still stigma around homosexuality, disabilities, transgender individuals, and expressions of feminism and masculinity that don’t fit the social standard. Those areas definitely need improvement. However, AnnaISD is very progressive when it comes to mental health programs. Just at the high school, they have two intervention counselors that students can meet with regularly. They are some of the sweetest and good-meaning people I have ever met.
Overall, I have enjoyed my experience in Anna, but I am eager to get out of any small towns after high school.

Anna has been such a blessing in my life. My family and I moved from another state and basically just picked Anna off the map. Everything about this up and coming city is wonderful, it has been an easy adjustment and a very welcoming experience!
I've lived in the City of Anna for the past 3 years. It's a growing community with new and old subdivisions, but also still has plenty of farmlands and large acre lot properties for those who prefer more "country living."
I love our community park, walking trails and the small town feel. The city is starting to attract more retail and restaurant businesses that are improving the convenience of the location and removing the necessity to drive to neighboring cities for commodities.
My family and I intend to live in the city for many years to come and look forward to the new businesses and neighbors that will be attracted to our beautiful area.
